A stamp is an object of design.

Postage Archive files ten stamps by the things designers actually look for: artist, typeface, color, technique, theme and era. Country and year are context, not the spine.

It is free, carries no advertising, and is fully indexable. Images circulate without watermarks — attribution rides in the filename and the alt text, so a stamp that ends up three sites away still points home.

We are not collectors and this is not a price guide. We are two people learning to be archivists in public, and every field on every page was set by one of us looking at the stamp.

Staff

Noah Riffe
Founder · cataloguer

Started the archive after finding that nothing online described what the stamps actually looked like.

Liv Carpenter
Archivist · typeface research

Identifies the type and keeps the vocabulary honest. Will not mark a face confirmed on a specimen under 18mm without a second opinion.
